I am an Andrew Parr Practitioner and I am passionate about helping people to reach their full potential in life by releasing negative beliefs that often stand in the way of success, peace and happiness.

I can work with you to help you with a range of issues from weight loss, stress, habits such as smoking, anxiety, phobias, self-esteem, or you may just want to learn to relax, be calm and enjoy your life more. About Me:

Having spent over 16 years in Higher Education, working with both young and older adults, I have continued to have a strong passion and commitment toward helping individuals to realise and achieve their full potential both as people and within their future careers. During this time, whilst I always enjoyed teaching within my subject area, I began to find that I was increasingly more drawn towards supporting, guiding and facilitating students’ personal growth and development as individuals. This realisation, as well as my own personal experience of hypnotherapy,  has led me to realise that my mission in life had adjusted somewhat, leading me to hypnotherapy where I strongly believe that I can facilitate and guide others of all ages to make a positive change in their lives.

What I love about hypnotherapy is the fact that it is one of the most natural treatments in the world, and it is a collaboration between you and I. My role is to guide and support you to find the power within yourself to make the changes that will make your life more enriching and fulfilled. Whatever your personal objectives or motivation may be, there are many different ways in which hypnotherapy can help you. So often, we all feel blocked, or ‘stuck’, and this prevents us from grasping opportunities and moving forward with our lives in the way that we would like to. Hypnotherapy can help you by getting to core of negative beliefs, releasing them and replacing them with new and more positive and productive beliefs about yourself and your world. By changing your beliefs, your behaviour will adapt and change, and other people will behave differently towards you as well.

I am very proud to say that I was fortunate enough to have been trained by the inspirational Andrew Parr in the Andrew Parr method. This has qualified me in range of techniques from; Parts therapy, Inner Child Therapy, Suggestion/ Solution-based therapy (Clinical) basic NLP and much more. Each individual is different, therefore, all treatments are ‘hand-crafted’ to your needs.

Q WHAT IS HYPNOTHERAPY?

Hypnosis is a complementary therapy that utilises our natural ability to access our subconscious mind in order to release negative beliefs and to bring about positive change to our thoughts, feelings and behaviour. It is a completely natural and safe state of altered consciousness that is innate in all of us. Using the guidance and support of an experienced and qualified hypnotherapist, or alone (self-hypnosis), you are able to enter a state of consciousness that enables both the conscious and unconscious mind to become more compliant and suggestible.

Q HOW WILL IT HELP ME?

Hypnotherapy has been widely endorsed as a therapy and treatment for breaking unhealthy habits, stress-related issues and anxiety, as well as a wide range of other conditions. In recent years it has been steadily gaining more recognition in the medical world after a recommendation from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE)

The aim of hypnotherapy is to allow you to release any negative beliefs and feelings in order to get rid of unhelpful behaviour and habits and to replace these with positive beliefs and feelings, which will lead to more positive behaviour. Put simply, what we believe, affects what we think, what we think affects what, and how we feel, and what we feel affects how we behave. When you change how you think and perceive things, this will also change how you feel and will lead to a positive change of behaviour. In addition to this, when your behaviour changes, those around you will notice that subtle change in you and will react differently toward you, in a very reassuring way. Ultimately, the aim is to help you to develop a new frame of reference and for you to see your world from a different perspective.

Q HOW DOES IT WORK?

The session will begin with an in depth consultation and a detailed chat about your objectives, so that it is possible for me to guide and support your needs effectively. The hypnosis itself is a very relaxing and positive process that alters your state of consciousness by relaxing the conscious part of the mind, whilst at the same time stimulating and focussing the subconscious mind. This creates a heightened state of awareness that makes one more open to suggestion, as well as making you more likely to experience feelings and sensations more intensely.

It is important to understand that working with a hypnotherapist is a collaborative process. I will work with you and your belief systems, and will help you to adjust any beliefs that may be holding you back. Your belief system is key to everything, so theoretically by helping you to release negativity, I am able to facilitate you to initiate positive change in all areas of your life.

Q DIFFERENT TYPES OF HYPNOTHERAPY?

Generally, hypnosis and hypnotherapy fall into two main categories, although there is usually a lot of overlap between the two. There are some hypnotherapists, who will specialise in one, or the other. I personally use both, depending on the needs of the client.

Q SUGGESTION / CLINICAL HYPNOTHERAPY:

his is a purely solution-focused approach, where the therapist makes positive suggestions whilst the client is in hypnosis, without investigating causes. It deals only with symptoms, not the cause of the causes, and uses positive visualisation of future outcomes.

The main aim is for these suggestions to remain active in the mind of the individual in question even after they are brought out of their trance. These are referred to as post-hypnotic suggestions. These are often supported by use of a recording that the therapist give to their client after their session that they play regularly to reinforce these suggestions. As they embed within their mind, these suggestions form part of their new frame of reference. Typically, smoking cessation is very effective when done in this way, after a long and in depth chat about the client’s personal situation, goals and objectives.

Q HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

This will vary somewhat according to your specific issue, and of course everyone is different. Some people may just need one session, and some may need 4-6 sessions. Generally, the average amount of sessions needed tends to be between 3-6 sessions.

I can offer you a free 15 minute consultation over the telephone, or via Skype, to see how I can help you, and more importantly to make sure that you feel comfortable and able to work with me.

1st Session: £75.00*

Please allow up to 2 hours. This will be an in depth consultation and chat in order to help me understand exactly what you would like to achieve, to allow me to determine the best treatment for you. This will usually also include some hypnosis.

Thereafter, each session will be - £65.00* (will usually last between 60-90 mins)

A treatment plan of 3 sessions - £185*

Home visits are available: I am happy to do some home visits, within a 15-mile radius, This will be charged at 50p (non-discounted) per mile in addition to your session fee.
